The significance of Paul calling Peter, Cephas, seems to me , to be that Peter’s words in the council had the utmost significance,
Though James appears in charge. The Lord himself gave the keys to the Kingdom to Peter who realises through his experience and vision with Cornelius, that we are all know saved by the grace of God.
Then tying into the gospel that Paul shared with them, that it is because of Christ. Peter’s voice here and words, are telling what is to be now. James does not seem to get the whole picture. Please correct me if I’m wrong…:)
